Since June 2003, High Country CleanSpace LLC, which was renamed Tarheel Basement Systems LLC, has installed over 2 million square feet of CleanSpace vapor barrier in over 500 homes,  from the North Carolina High Country to the Triad.

We have grown steadily since opening and are in strong financial shape. We have been certified a full, deluxe Basement Systems dealer; consequently, Basement Systems, Inc. will honor any valid warranty we issue for our work, using their products, if we, as an independent dealer, were to suddenly go out of business.

Since Basement Systems is a debt-free corporation, customers should be very comfortable knowing the financial strength behind us. We are also an A+ rated, accredited member of the Better Business Bureau.

We specialize in crawlspace moisture control, basement waterproofing, foundation repair, and radon testing/mitigation. Pete Burgess was a licensed residential building contractor (inactive) who built his own home and William Blake, our general manager, is a radon mitigation contractor with national certification and was a North Carolina licensed home inspector.

Basement Systems has been awarded over 27 patents for unique products designed to help keep basements and crawlspaces dry. They help provide us with other resources to be there when you call - even years after your job is completed. They virtually "wrote the book" on crawlspace encapsulation and worked with Advanced Energy in Raleigh, NC to get the concept accepted and approved for the residential building code.

About Pete and Will's Tar Heel Basement Systems

Pete and Will met around 2006 while Will was helping his father-in-law run home inspections.  Will was a licensed radon mitigation specialist running his own business at the time, so Pete asked Will if he might be interested in joining the Tar Heel team. Will joined team Tar Heel Basement Systems and today Pete and Will work together to run and manage the business. Will is now the company's General Manager and Sales Manager.

The company traditionally specialized in crawlspace encapsulation and now also offer basement waterproofing, radon testing and mitigation, as well as foundation repair. The company has grown steadily, even through the recession, and the original fleet of one cargo van has become a fleet of four box trucks and four cargo vans. We now employ 29 people.

The evolution of this small High Country CleanSpace business in 2003 to Pete & Will's Tar Heel Basement Systems today is very exciting and we look forward to continued future growth and success.
