The basement in this Pinnacle, NC home had waterproofing and wall repair project completed by Tar Heel Basement Systems in 2012. Wall Anchors were installed along the bowing wall to stabilize the wall, and a full perimeter WaterGuard Drainage System was installed to keep moisture out.
A couple of years later, the homeowner was ready to finish their waterproofed basement and create a ''man cave'' to enjoy. The Finishing Team covered the Wall Anchors with specialized, moisture proof covers, installed a linen drop ceiling with light fixtures, while giving the walls a makeover by installing EverLast Wall Panels. The basement is now bright and beautiful for years to come!
This Winston Salem, NC homeowner called Tar Heel Basement Systems after spotting these stair-step cracks on the outside of the home. The home was experiencing foundation settlement caused by the compression of poorly compacted soil. The foundation crew was able to install Helical Piers that can be extended into the ground to find stable soil and lift the home back towards its original position. The end result was a smaller crack and a stabilized wall.

This Winston Salem homeowner noticed a horizontal crack on the interior wall of the basement and called Tar Heel Basement Systems for a foundation repair. The crack was caused by hydrostatic pressure, which is when the soil surrounding the outside of the basement wall builds up water and puts pressure on the wall, bowing it and eventually cracking it. This type of foundation issue is known as basement wall failure, and the Tar Heel foundation crew was able to use Geo-lock Wall anchors, which are used to hold a wall in place and potentially straighten over time. The foundation team was able to slightly close the foundation crack and permanently stabilize the basement wall.
This partially finished basement was experiencing interior foundation cracks along with a bowing wall. The homeowner reached out to Tar Heel Basement Systems to stabilize the basement wall. We installed (10) GeoLock wall anchors to prevent further movement of the wall and to potentially straighten the wall over time.

Josh Watson and his crew finished this project in two days, left the home looking beautiful and the homeowner ecstatic.
This Winston Salem, NC home that was built in the 1960's was having structural concerns on 1 exterior basement wall. The wall had a large horizontal and stair-step crack that was causing the cinder block and brick to bow out. The homeowners called Tar Heel Basement Systems to provide them an appropriate solution to stabilize the wall.
Tar Heel Basement Systems foundation crew installed 3 PowerBraces along the bowing wall. The patented PowerBrace system effectively stabilized the wall; each PowerBrace is zinc-plated for resistance to corrosion. Next, the crew installed BrightWall behind the PowerBraces, a plastic paneling that is fastened to the wall while leaving a bright, clean look and stopping water vapor from permeating the basement wall.

After many attempts at reaching out to the company that originally installed the carbon strips, and finding out the company had gone out of business, no longer honoring the carbon fiber warranty; the homeowner called Tar Heel Basement Systems for professional help.
The Tar Heel Foundation Team installed twelve (12) PowerBraces along the bowing wall where the carbon strips were failing. The patented PowerBraces system will stabilize the wall correctly and the heavy-duty zinc plated steel beams will not corrode like traditional I-beams. Tar Heel Basement Systems was able to completely stabilize this bowing basement wall.
This Winston Salem, NC home's exterior basement walls had major structural concerns. Horizontal, vertical and stair-step cracks were visible throughout all of the cinder block basement walls.
Tar Heel Basement Systems installed (12) CarbonArmor Straps. Carbon Armor is a very high tensile strength material that is almost impossible to stretch. The CarbonArmor system is the only fabric carbon fiber product to code. Since carbon armor installations don't require any outside digging, they are viable when there is limited access on the exterior of the home. CarbonArmor's low-profile allows for easy installation access behind plumbing lines and electrical conduit. The system was easily concealed with BrightWall. BrightWall is a plastic paneling that is fastened to the basement walls and provides a clean, bright look while preventing water vapor from permeating your walls.
Now this Winston Salem, NC homeowner can rest assured that her home's structure is stable and safe, and her basement received a cosmetic lift thanks to Tar Heel Basement Systems!
Over the years the horizontal crack along this Winston Salem, NC basement wall had grown larger, creating additional cracks along the sides of the wall.
