Tar Heel Team pays it forward

Tar Heel Basement Systems is offering a helping hand in the fight against domestic violence. We have selected Forsyth Family Services for our March-April pay it forward project. Family Services mission is “to promote the school readiness of children, the well-being of adults and families, and the safety of those in the community impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault.”

According to Family Services websitefour million women are physically abused each year and many more suffer emotional abuse from their partner. Tar Heel Basement Systems will be focusing on the Domestic Violence sector of Family Services, hosting a drive at our facility to collect toiletries for the Battered Women’s Shelter. After speaking to staff at FSI, the most needed items at the shelter are everyday toiletries, believe it or not.

March 23- April 10 will be our “Battered, not Broken” Toiletry Drive. We will be asking employees to donate items used in washing and taking care of one’s body, such as soap, shampoo, and toothpaste. Additional needed products include deodorant, baby wipes/toiletries, feminine products, dish cloths, diapers, hand lotion, etc. Our goal is to collect more than 100 toiletry items for these women and children in need. All donations are greatly appreciated and we welcome donations from our community members!
