Skyi Addington

Hi, I’m Skyi!

I’m the friendly voice you hear on the phone while scheduling your service appointment! I was born and raised in Thomasville, NC and now live in High Point. Before joining the Tar Heel team I provided excellent customer service as an assistant manager at Claire’s as well as working in some other sales and customer service positions prior to that. I have also worked as a caretaker and child care provider following the Childhood Early Development and Parenting training I received in high school.

Due to my husband working for the company I have gotten a chance to witness all of the wonderful work this company does for its employees, its customers, and the community as well as  spend time with all of the amazing people that make it all happen. After watching my husband grow and thrive with this company I decided I wanted to become an official part of the Tar Heel family.

When I’m not working I love spending time with my wonderful husband of over 10 years, Ian,  our 3 beautiful children, Alexis, David, and Madison, and our lovely lab and furbaby, Bella. You can almost always find me in the outdoors: camping, fishing, four-wheeling, you name it! I also enjoy coffee and reading a good mystery book.

I look forward to speaking with you regarding your home!

Adam Canter

Hi, I’m Adam!

I came to Tar Heel Basement Systems from one of our sister branches in Virginia with an ample amount of experience with masonry, basement waterproofing, foundation repair, and crawlspace encapsulation. I also worked in plumbing and HVAC for a time prior to that. My previous background has given me the proper tools I need when it comes to servicing our systems and ensuring that everything continues to run smoothly.

I love working at Tar Heel because the company allows for a lot of great opportunities and I genuinely enjoy the culture and environment. However, when I’m not working, I love spending time with my wife, Kelly and our 2 dogs, Zoe and Zera. I also enjoy spending some of my free time working on old cars.

I look forward to being the “hero in your home!”

Jeremy House

Jeremy House

Hi, my name is Jeremy!

I am very excited to ease your mind by providing a permanent solution for your home! I have been working for Tar Heel Basement Systems for a while now and have become a jack of all trades thanks to my experience in both the service and production departments. My favorite things about working for this company are the people I work alongside and the good that we do as a team.

When I’m not out in the field improving people’s homes, I love fishing, hunting, racing and wood-working! Another fun fact about me is that I have received training from the National Center for Construction and Research (NCCER).

I look forward to being the “hero in your home!”

Jesse Crawford

Hi, I’m Jesse,
Prior to joining the Tar Heel team, I worked as a Foreman for 3 years at a Lawn Maintenance Company and I am also a self-employed musician. I bring with me experience in helping customers and leading a crew to do the best job possible! I came to Tar Heel Basement Systems on a fellow employee’s recommendation. I was looking for a company to invest in and after hearing about their company values and policies as well as the fact that we share a love for customer satisfaction, I knew Tar Heel is the place for me!
I love to write/record music and spend time with my loving wife of more than 15 years and our two daughters. They are the lights of my life!
I look forward to being the “hero in your home!”

John Canterbury

Hi, I’m John!

I am originally from Man, West Virginia but currently reside in the wonderful town of Winston-Salem. Before joining the Tar Heel team, I gained a wealth of experience working in construction, waterproofing, coal mining. I was attracted  to Tar Heel because I know from experience it’s rewarding work that I get to do alongside an amazing team of individuals. This is actually my second time working for the company and I’m so excited to be back on my favorite team.

When I’m not finding permanent solutions for your home’s needs, I love spending time with my son. He is my world! Though he was born blind that doesn’t slow him down whatsoever. I also enjoy bow-hunting for white-tailed deer.

I look forward to being the “hero in your home!”

Eric Townsend

Hi, I’m Eric!

Not only am I employed by Tar Heel but I also happen to be a former customer. After experiencing firsthand what a great and necessary service was being provided I decided I wanted the opportunity to do the same for others with a company that I knew I could trust. Before coming aboard at Tar Heel I did some work putting up tents, and constructing stages and dance floors. Luckily many of the skills I learned in that line of work, such as surveying sites and planning for unexpected scenarios helped me transition smoothly and quickly into my role here at Tar Heel.

I have a degree in Recreation Management and a CDL Passenger Endorsement which I still make use of by driving buses and limousines as a side business. In my spare time you can find me spending time with my wife, our 3 beautiful daughters, and our many animals. I also enjoy detailing vehicle sound systems, and playing friendly games of basketball and volleyball on occasion.

I look forward to being the “hero in your home!”

Jose Ramirez Morelos

Hi, I’m Jose!

Prior to joining the Tar Heel team, I worked for years in food service, providing excellent customer service. I also have over 2 years of experience working in crawlspaces. The people I work with are what attracted me to Tar Heel. My team is like my family and I love being able to work in such a friendly environment.

When I’m not working towards creating a healthier home for customers, I enjoy spending time with my brother and friends, playing soccer and going to the gym.

I look forward to being the “hero in your home!”

Luke Evans

Hi, I’m Luke!

Over the years I have acquired a wealth of construction experience as well as become very familiar with crawlspaces during my time working with DirecTV. I love working with customers face-to-face, working to find the best solution to improve the life and health of their home. I joined the Tar Heel family because I was seeking a guaranteed opportunity for growth and I loved the positive energy that I experience every day here.

When I’m not diagnosing your home’s waterproofing and foundation needs I love spending my time outdoors, fishing and kayaking. I also enjoying woodworking and spending time with my wonderful pets.

I look forward to being the “hero in your home!”

Juan Lopez Hernandez

Hi, I’m Juan!

Before coming to Tar Heel I worked at Stratford Metal Finishing and a framing company called Black Dog. I found out about Tar Heel through a friend of mine who was already working for the company. He spoke so highly of his job and talked about his co-workers as if they were his family. It’s very rare that you find that in a job so I was immediately interested. Thankfully I followed my gut and now I’m so happy to be a part of the Tar Heel family!

When I’m not looking for permanent solutions to all of your waterproofing and foundation needs you can almost always find me playing soccer. Outside of that I also enjoy spending time with my friends and my army of dogs, or playing golf.

I look forward to being the “hero in your home!”

Matt Johnson

Matt Johnson

Hi, I’m Matt!

Before joining Tar Heel Basement Systems I worked 15 years in the plumbing and gas pipe industry. My experience in those fields gave me the base knowledge needed to become a waterproofing, foundation and service specialist. I have a beautiful wife, Marie, and 4 wonderful children; Brent, Blake, Chris and Lynn. When I am not working or spending time with my family, I love fishing, golfing, martial arts, racing and good music.

I look forward to meeting you and helping with all of your basement, crawlspace and foundation issues.

Shane Inglis

Hi, I’m Shane!

Prior to joining the Tar Heel Basement Systems team I was a vehicle operator for the U.S. Air Force. I also have my OSHA forklift certification and I’m currently on track to earn my Associates in Applied Science. I came to Tar Heel on the recommendation of a friend because I was looking for a new experience but I stayed because I instantly loved the amazing team and the incredible work culture.

When I’m not working to find permanent solutions to all of your waterproofing and foundation needs I love spending time with my wonderful family. I have a beautiful wife, 2 kids and a 3rd on the way, and 2 dogs. I also enjoy watching the NFL and using wood to build things.

I look forward to being the “hero in your home!”

Taylor Johnson

Hi, I’m Taylor!

I’m originally from Mobile, AL but moved to Winston-Salem when my husband was accepted to Wake Forest Law. Prior to joining the Tar Heel team, I worked as an Associate Artistic Director of a Theatre Company and a Media & Marketing Director. Tar Heel was a perfect fit for me because of my big personality and my love of meeting new people. I love the integrity of Tar Heel and I’m so excited to be a part of this company and to get to travel around to some fun and interesting events.

When I’m not traveling for work, I love gathering with and volunteering with Elevation Church. I am also a huge foodie and love trying new foods and desserts.

I look forward to meeting you at area festivals and events!
