James Bistrek

Hi, I’m James!

I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada but moved to the great town of High Point, NC to be closer to my family.  In my search for work I knew I wanted to be a part of a company where there were no limits to my growth and I found that in Tar Heel Basement Systems. Thanks to years of working in customer service I excel at providing my customers with a top-notch experience. My background as a supervisor has also contributed to my leadership of a wonderful, hard-working crew.

When I’m not working towards improving the life of your home, I like to write, play video games and occasionally shoot airsoft guns. I especially enjoy spending my time with my beautiful wife, Ashley and our sweet dogs.

I look forward to being the hero in your home!

Ashley Bistrek

Hi, I’m Ashley!

Before joining the Tar Heel team, I provided excellent customer service for years, working most recently in the call center for Flow Automotive. I have a passion for people and I love working closely with them. What attracted me most to Tar Heel was the amazing company culture that was talked about as well as exemplified in the employees that I knew working here.

The majority of my time outside of work is spent working towards my Associate’s degree in Nursing at Forsyth Tech. In my free time, I love spending time with my husband, James, who is also a member of the Tar Heel family and our dog. I also enjoying hanging out with our friends, playing with my niece, and hiking.

I look forward to speaking with you and helping you in any way that I can!

Delilah Pearce

Hi, I’m Delilah!

Prior to joining the Tar Heel family I provided excellent customer service as a bartender for about 20 years and then got my first administrative job working with a flooring company. I discovered then that I love working in customer service AND and an office. I found myself attracted to Tar Heel because when I first researched the company and the employment reviews it was so consistently positive. It is rare that you find a company in which so many of the employees truly love their job. I became very excited to work for a company in which I have the opportunity to grow while being appreciated.

When I’m not working I love spending time with my significant other of over 7 years and my grumpy little toy poodle. I also enjoy baking treats from scratch and cooking meals Southern-style. Something else that is interesting about me is that I am a twin.

I look forward to speaking with you and providing you with top-rate customer service!

Lisa Cruz

Hi, I’m Lisa!

I’m the friendly voice you will hear on the phone when scheduling the installation of your brand new system. I bring with me to Tar Heel over 5 years of leadership and customer service experience, working for Speedway and Wilco Hess as an Assistant Manager. What attracted me most to Tar Heel was the friendly and family-like atmosphere. I love that I am not just another number here but rather I can be myself and everyone encourages me to embrace that.

I live in the East Bend, NC area with my husband, Victor, who is also a member of the Tar Heel family. Together, we live with our adorable son, Thiago, and our dogs. In my spare time, I enjoy watching criminal investigative docu-series and listening to music.

I look forward to speaking with you and providing you with top-rate customer service!

Teresa Phares

Hi, I’m Teresa!

I’m the friendly voice you will hear on the phone when scheduling the installation of your brand new system. Previously I worked as an office manager for 20 years with an automotive body and paint shop and before that I worked as a production secretary at Fleetwood Homes.  When my previous employer went out of business I began my search for a new job and from my first interview with Tar Heel I knew this was where I belonged. I am excited to be a part of Tar Heel’s team and look forward to our future together.

When I’m not at work I love spending time with my family and friends, traveling, enjoying bonfires, and going to the beach. I have 2 daughters, McKenna and Samantha, 2 Shih Tzus, Simon and Sophie, and a cat named Murphy. I also enjoy cooking and baking, studying criminal justice and watching anything to do with forensics or detective work.

I am eager to talk to you and ensure that we’re exceeding all of yours expectations!

Tonya Gunn

Tonya Gunn

Hey, I’m Tonya!

I’m the friendly voice you will hear on the phone to schedule your engineering visit. Prior to joining the Tar Heel team I worked as a service coordinator for Watson Electrical Company in Chesapeake, VA where my duties included electrical estimating, permitting jobs and coordinating electrical repair work. I relocated to Winston-Salem to be closer to my family and with my background in construction and scheduling coordination experience, coming to Tar Heel Basement Systems felt a little like coming home.

In my spare time, I am an avid reader and movie collector. My favorite thing to do is spend time with my sweet, tiny Italian Greyhound, Bandit. He loves coming to work with me and being spoiled even more than usual by our Tar Heel family.

I look forward to speaking with you and giving you the confidence that Tar Heel Basement Systems is the right company to make your home healthy, stabilized, and dry!

Nate Zook

Hi, I’m Nate!

I came to Tar Heel with a background in consulting but I was ready for a different career path and I was drawn to the excellent reputation that this company is known for. I also bring with me a Bachelor of Science in General Studies with a concentration in Mass Communications as well as a CPC (Certified Personnel Consultant) certification.

My beautiful wife, Anna and I have a wonderful son as well as a houseful of dogs and chickens. When I’m not working towards providing a healthier home for my customers, I enjoy woodworking, fishing and playing golf.

I look forward to meeting you and finding the best solution to protect your greatest asset: your home!

Marcus Johnson

Hi, I’m Marcus!

I was born and raised in wonderful Winston-Salem, NC where I still reside today. I joined the Tar Heel team after hearing a lot of great things about the company and the quality of workers here who support each other and encourage growth. I am a very hard-worker and I personally look forward to all of the skills and knowledge I can acquire here.

When I’m not looking for a permanent solution for your home, I like to shop, make music and spend time with my friends.

I look forward to being the “hero in your home!”

Angel Hernandez

Hi, I’m Angel!

I spent 18 years as a residential and commercial plumber in New York, New Jersey, and North Carolina before deciding it was time for a change. I wanted to make a fresh start and Tar Heel Basement Systems seemed like a great company to help me do just that. I was recruited to the team by Garrett Atkinson who used to work here as the General Manager but has since moved to Colorado to work for our sister branch. I’m so excited for this opportunity to grow with this wonderful company and to help customers achieve a healthier home.

When I’m not inspecting crawlspaces or basements, I love staying active. I’m an avid outdoorsman and I love hiking and fishing. I am also a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and I actively compete.

I can’t wait to meet you and find the perfect solution to ensure your home remains dry, healthy and stabilized!

Bret Eldridge

Hi, I’m Bret!

I spent about 25 years working in the highway construction industry as a Manager as well as working for HMA Plants as a Sales Manager prior to that. I also have OSHA 30 training, safety training, and compliance training. I first wanted to join the Tar Heel team because I was ready to get back into sales and I wanted to do so with a highly praised and well-established company. However, after learning more about this company, what really attracted me to the job was the opportunity to grow and thrive, both professionally and personally, alongside some really amazing people.

When I’m not working towards making your home healthier and safer, I love spending time with my amazing son. We love traveling and playing golf together. He also participates in some of the races I enjoy doing including mud runs, Spartans, warrior dashes, and 5K races. In addition I enjoy spending my free time working out.

I look forward to meeting you and finding the perfect solution to protect your greatest asset: your home!

Brian Pirone

Hi, I’m Brian!

Prior to joining this team, I worked hard to build up a reputable background in sales, business management, and construction, as well as working as a firefighter and an EMT for a while. Additionally I received my Associate in Arts in General Education and attended Western Carolina University for Emergency and Disaster Management. I joined the Tar Heel family because my passion above all is helping others and I would love the opportunity to save your home from any current or future damage.

When I’m not working towards improving your home from the ground up, I love spending time with my wife and our son, and our friends. I also enjoy reading, working out and taking trips to the Outer Banks and other beaches.

I look forward to meeting you and finding the best solution to protect your greatest asset: your home!

Brian Reich

Hi, I’m Brian!

Prior to joining this team, I worked in construction for most of my life and worked in electrical for over a decade, providing exceptional customer service for over 15 years. I am a licensed electrician and I received my Bachelor in Science from NC State. What attracted me most to Tar Heel Basement Systems was the opportunity to help people as part of a fantastic, steadily growing team.

Ever since growing up on my grandpa’s farm I have loved the outdoors. When I’m not looking for a permanent solution to all of your foundation and waterproofing needs, you can find me going on adventures with my wife and daughter. I am obsessed with the water and being at the beach, lake, or even on the river where I like to paddleboard.

I look forward to meeting you and helping you achieve a healthier home!

Chad Hensley

Hi, I’m Chad!

I’ve worked in the construction industry since 1995. I was a carpenter for many years and eventually became an estimator and project manager in commercial construction. I came to Tar Heel Basement Systems because, though I wanted an opportunity to stay within my field, I also wanted to learn something new by working with a different form of construction. I was also fortunate enough to have a friend who already worked for the company and had nothing but great things to say about it.

When I’m not looking for permanent solutions to all of your waterproofing and foundation needs, I love spending time with my beautiful wife, our sons and our aggravating yet lovable cat. My wife and I enjoy going to outdoor music festivals and I also enjoy hiking, camping, fly fishing and scuba diving.

I look forward to meeting you and finding the best solution to protect your greatest asset: your home!

Colin Brown

Hi, I’m Colin!

Before joining the Tar Heel team I worked a variety of jobs. I was in law enforcement for a while as well as working as an insurance adjuster and a roofing inspector. I love learning new skills and see it as an opportunity to better myself both professionally and personally. When a friend of mine told me all about his experience working for Tar Heel Basement Systems I decided that this would be a great fit for me.

When I’m not diagnosing your home’s concerns, I love spending time with my beautiful wife of over 20 years, our 2 wonderful children, and our dog. I also love the outdoors and pretty much all outdoor activities including hiking and camping.

I look forward to meeting you and finding the best solution to protect your greatest asset: your home!

Craig Waller Jr.

Hi, I’m Craig!

Prior to joining Tar Heel Basement Systems I spent many years working in the health and fitness industry. I have worked as a General Manager for several franchised gyms, as the Vice President of Sales at Sportscenter Athletic Club, and as the owner and General Manager of Transform Fitness Center. Now, with waterproofing and foundation knowledge I have gained, I can not only help people achieve a healthier lifestyle, but also a healthier home. My biggest motivation for joining the Tar Heel family was the instantly recognizable positive culture and strong leadership. From the top down, this company motivates you to constantly grow, both professionally and personally.

I spend most of my free time with my amazing little boy. Watching him grow up is the greatest joy in my life. I also enjoy riding my Harley and being on the water. One of my greatest passions is helping and motivating others to live out their purpose.

I look forward to meeting you and finding the best solution to protect your greatest asset: your home!

Dave Brereton

Hi, I’m Dave!

I grew up in Rockland County, New York and, at that time, most of my background was in food service and management in the deli business, at which time I was nicknamed ‘Deli Dave.’ I realized early on that I have a passion for taking care of customers. After deciding on a career change, I moved to the south and became ‘southernized,’ which I love! My dedication to customer service and working with people eventually landed me in sales with Coca-Cola. My position at Coca-Cola is where I developed my naturally genuine selling skills.

I came to work as a Certified Field Inspector for Tarheel Basement Systems because of the amazing culture, team-building and family atmosphere. I am proud to work for the #1 company in North Carolina specializing in dry basement and crawlspace technology. And while I am helping you with your home, I can whip you up a mean deli sandwich!

When I’m not helping nice folks protect their greatest asset – their home – you’ll find me enjoying anything outdoors with my wife, Shannon. Together we love fruit, vegetable and pollinator flower gardening. We love hiking our trails and walking the ‘3 Amigos’ (Polly, Speck and Mia), our Chihuahuas.

I look forward to meeting you!

Gennaro Amato

Hi, my name is Gennaro!

Before coming aboard the Tar Heel team I worked in construction management and mold remediation. Due to my background, I’ve seen firsthand the damage that can occur due to water intrusion and structural issues. I came to Tar Heel in the hopes of helping homeowners understand that as well and helping them to prevent these issues from greatly affecting their homes. I’ve since loved working for this company thanks to the high energy of a supportive and team-oriented environment.

When I’m not diagnosing your home’s concerns I love spending time with my wife and our pets. My wife and I have 2 grown children as well as a dog and 2 cats. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, speaking and counseling. I am also a green thumb and nutrition enthusiast.

I look forward to meeting you and finding the best solution to protect your greatest asset: your home!

Graham Moore

Hi, I’m Graham Moore!

I have an extensive background working with homes, first as a Real Estate Broker and then for over 5 years in the foundation, crawlspace, and basement repair industry. I  was attracted to Tar Heel because it has the culture, successful business history, and reputation I was looking for. I also appreciated that, even though Tar Heel has the benefits of a bigger company, it still has a hometown connection and strong roots in the community.

When I’m not looking for a permanent solution to all of your waterproofing and foundation needs, I love spending time with my beautiful wife of over 5 years and our 5 cats. I also love being outdoors and enjoy hiking, hunting, and fishing, as well as golf and clay shooting.

I look forward to meeting you and finding the best solution to protect your greatest asset: your home!
