Tar Heel Tip of the Week: Spring Flowers Bring Spring Showers

Tuesday, March 1st, 2016 by Jaimie Hooker

With warmer weather on the rise in the Southeast region, many spring flowers are starting to take bloom. Along with bright spring flowers, come spring showers. During heavy rains, some homeowners are left with flooded basements or crawl spaces. Not the happy spring into warmer weather they were hoping for.

No matter the type of foundation your home is built on, if your home does not have a sufficient drainage system with a sump pump that can be serviced at any time,  water will make its way into your basement or crawl space leaving you with a mess to clean. It’s important to find the root of the problem and address it accordingly by speaking with a reputable and professional company. Do not cover these concerns up with a band-aid, such as waterproof paint that will only fail you over time.

Unlike traditional French drains that are installed around the exterior of the foundation through total yard excavation; Tar Heel Basement Systems offers engineered and patented solutions for any basement and crawl space. All of the solutions offered by Tar Heel Basement Systems come with warranties and can be serviced annually.  Our dedicated System Design Specialists are educators in the moisture control field and are here to help!

Don’t let the rain ruin your spring fun! For more information regarding the health of your basement or crawl space, contact our local office today.
