Tuesday, January 22nd, 2013

Tar Heel Basement Systems has Joined the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce in hopes of making a positive impact on the local economy. Their partnership with the Chamber will not only strengthen the company by allowing them to establish relationships in the community, but it will also help to encourage others to Join by “giving back” locally.

What if every single business in the Greensboro area hired one person this year? What would happen to the economy…would business in the area start to “boom?” Now, think about this, what if that same business partnered with other thriving companies to hire more than one new, full-time employee? Imagine how many people would be put back to work in this tough economy.

Tar Heel Basement Systems recently rose to and above the challenge by partnering with several business counterparts in the area and together they have hired more than 7 employees since 2011. Pete Burgess, owner of Tar Heel Basement Systems, is a proud supporter of this program, and he is pleased that his success will help to put others back to work.

The initiative called “One Job for Greensboro Challenge” was started by the City of Greensboro with the goal of giving the local economy a boost by breathing new life into the local workforce and creating good, stable, local Jobs.

Out of this initiative came the campaign called “One Job for Greensboro Challenge,” which challenges thriving local businesses to hire one or more new employees within the year. The program is modeled after the “One Job for America Campaign” started by a husband and wife team of advertising executive professionals. The plan is for “every business in America, big and small to create one new Job.” This amazing initiative has spread across America, and it has now reached the Greensboro area.

The partnership between Tar Heel Basement Systems and the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce will create new local opportunities. The Chamber has been in business for over 130 years with its focus on “business growth and advocacy, urban livability and economic development.” The Chamber prides itself on helping to “build relationships, business and success.” It’s a win-win for all!

Tar Heel will have the added benefit of all Chamber programs, such as leadership development, diversity, networking and community, just to name a few. Pete Burgess and his team at Tar Heel Basement Systems are very excited about this new partnership and all of the benefits for his business and for the community. The networking connections will open new doors to business solutions, success and to other opportunities to help invigorate the local economy.

Tar Heel is very pleased to participate in this great program and to help Greensboro reach its goal of creating 1,000 new Jobs to provide a positive, direct impact on the local economy.
