Tar Heel Basement Systems’ has vowed to prepare a meal for the families that are staying at the Ronald McDonald House of Winston Salem each month. Friday, September 6th, volunteers from the Tar Heel Team arrived eager to begin cooking.
The menu: Herb Baked Chicken, Potato Casserole, and a Fresh Garden Salad.
The chefs: Pete Burgess (Owner), Jackie Hoffman (Marketing Director), Chelsea Krick (Call Center) and Susan Van Emden (Production Assistant).
This is the second meal that Tar Heel Basement Systems has prepared at the House. Chelsea has been present on both occasions and remarked, “it was just as rewarding as the first time and I am grateful to be a part of something that helps so many people.”
The team plans to continue giving back to the community by preparing another meal in October…possibly pumpkin chili?!
