Tar Heel Basement Systems Holds Toy Drive for Santa’s Toy Box

Friday, December 6th, 2013

Santa’s Toy Box was started in 1986 by the Men’s Group at Deerfield Methodist Church. Since that time, Santa’s Toy Box has become a community project. Volunteers transform an empty warehouse into a ‘”toy store” during the month of December for families that need assistance providing gifts for their children during the holidays. Last year, Santa’s Toy Box was able to help over 900 less fortunate children have a Merry Christmas.

Tar Heel Basement Systems has Joined this wonderful project and has a donation box at their Boone office and Winston Salem office. Many Tar Heel Basement Systems employees have already started adding toys to the donation box, including a very generous donation by Owner, Pete Burgess.

What is even more fantastic is the involvement by those individuals outside of the company. Callie Parks of Dixon Hughes Goodman and Kevin Olsen of Artisan Restaurant dropped off multiple toys at our Winston Salem office on Thursday, and Chris Atkinson of G&T Technologies dropped off a handful of toys for boys and girls of all ages at our Boone office today. This is the type of community involvement that is going to truly make a difference for hundreds of children this holiday season and Tar Heel Basement Systems is proud to be a part of that.
