January Meal at the Ronald McDonald House Winston Salem

Friday, January 31st, 2014

Winston Salem and the rest of the Piedmont Triad received nearly 3 inches of snow on Tuesday night- a major snow event for many residents, as snow is rare in this area. Tar Heel Basement Systems took full advantage of this cold, snowy evening to prepare a hearty meal that would warm the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House.

Tar Heel System Design Specialists, Trevor Lord and Mike Smith, along with a few ladies from the office, Sydney Blake, and Kelly Martinez, were the chefs for the “chilly” evening. They prepared a toasty chicken chili and ground beef chili for the families to enjoy on this cold winter night.

System Design Specialist, Mike Smith, brought along his teenage son to experience the Joy of giving back to an incredible organization such as the Ronald McDonald House.

Tar Heel Basement Systems has implemented a “Pay It Forward” program that asks its employees to volunteer to the local organization and helps give back to the community. The Ronald McDonald House is just one of the many organizations that Tar Heel partners with for this program. We are always looking for new organizations/charities to help out and have recently begun a partnership with the Enrichment Center, 2nd Harvest Food Bank, and the American Red Cross.
