Case Studies: Winston Salem, NC – Porch Fixed with PolyRenewal

Friday, April 24th, 2015

This Winston Salem, NC homeowner was experiencing settlement with their slab front porch over the past few years. Noticing that this was becoming a bigger problem, they decided to have multiple companies come out and bid on the best solution for them. After attempting to contact multiple contractors and having them not show up, they called Tar Heel Basement Systems for help.

System Design Specialist, Rick Brown, completed a very detailed assessment of their sinking slab and created a design that would prevent the porch from settling further, but also lift the slab into its original position and level.

The Poly Team started the lift process by drilling 5/8 inch holes along the 15ft slab to inject the high-density polyurethane foam. The expanding properties of the waterproof polyfoam allowed for an accurate lift of this homeowner’s slab. The only disruption to this homeowner’s porch was the penny-sized holes that were drilled and then grouted and sealed after the successful lift. This Winston Salem, NC can now enjoy the view from their front porch thanks to Tar Heel Basement Systems!
