Tar Heel Basement Systems Receives The President’s Volunteer Service Award & Governor’s Volunteer Service Honors
The President’s Volunteer Service Award program was created as a way to thank and honor Americans who, by their demonstrated commitment and example, inspire others to engage in volunteer service. This prestigious award recognizes U.S. citizens who have achieved the required number of hours of service over a 12-month time period. Many of the Governor’s Volunteer Service Award nominees were eligible to receive this national award.
Tar Heel Basement Systems was honored as a nominee for the Forsyth County Governor’s Volunteer Service Award at an awards breakfast on May 5, 2015, at Salem College, hosted by HandsOn Northwest North Carolina. Tar Heel’s Pay It Forward Initiative began in 2013 and has flourished over the years, selecting a different non-profit organization to help each month. All of Tar Heel’s employees are offered (5) company-paid volunteer hours each year to help promote this community involvement. Many of Tar Heel’s employees donate much more than 5 hours per year to help those in need. It is for this reason that Tar Heel Basement Systems was awarded the Gold Level President’s Volunteer Service Award. In addition to a certificate of achievement, Tar Heel Basement Systems received a congratulatory letter from the White House and President Barack Obama for the service.
