Winston-Salem, NC - June 21st, 2016
Tar Heel Basement Systems will host its 3rd annual Blood Drive for the American Red Cross on Friday, June 24th. The mobile Blood Bus will be parked at the “All Things Basements” facility at 2910 Griffith Rd, Winston Salem, NC 27103 from 10:00-3:00.
According to the American Red Cross, hospital demand for blood products has recently increased; making it critically important that upcoming blood drives collect their donation goal. Right now, blood and platelet donations are being distributed to hospitals as quickly as donations come in.
Our goal for this year’s drive is to collect 35 units of blood. While the majority of the donors will be Tar Heel Basement Systems employees, this drive is open to the public and there are a handful of appointment slots left to be filled. If you are interested in scheduling an appointment to donate this Friday, please click here.
Considering donating? Think about these blood facts and stats:
– 1 donation can potentially save 3 lives
– Every 2 seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood
– Blood and platelets cannot be manufactured; they can only come from volunteer donors
– Nearly 21 million blood products are transfused each year
