Tar Heel Basement Systems Participates in Global Hand Hygiene Day 2014
World Health Organization’s “SAVE LIVES: Clean Your Hands” campaign is recognized around the world on May 5, 2014. While this initiative was started in 2009 specifically focused towards employees in the healthcare field, this global awareness campaign has become much greater than that. Many other organizations use “Hand Hygiene Day” to simply advocate that keeping hands clean is one of the most important ways to prevent the spread of infection and illness.
Winston Salem, NC. May 5, 2014 – In recognition of WHO “Hand Hygiene Day 2014,” Tar Heel Basement Systems has spent the morning educating its employees about the importance of clean hands to prevent the spread of illness and infections. Additionally, all members of the Tar Heel team were given individual hand sanitizer to keep on their person to use when soap and water are not readily available.
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, researchers estimate that if everyone routinely washed their hands, a million deaths a year could be prevented. Tar Heel Basement Systems urges its employees to practice good hand hygiene on a day-to-day basis in order to reduce the risk of spreading infection and illness.
