Jackie Hoffman, Director of Training and DevelopmentVirginia Beach, VA (April 18, 2018) – Groundworks, the nation’s largest foundation services company, has named Jackie Hoffman as Director of Training and Development. She will be responsible for advancing company culture and increase employee engagement across the Groundworks’ brands.

“I’m honored to be selected for this position. This is really an opportunity to make the whole greater than the sum of its parts,” Jackie said. “I’m most excited about being able to celebrate and honor the good works of our employees and promote excellence. I’ll also have the opportunity to further our charitable activities within the communities we serve, something I’ve always been extremely passionate about.”

Jackie’s responsibilities will include training, enhancing employee retention strategies, improving employee communication channels, and spearheading community involvement for all Groundworks brands. “Basically, my job is to find ways to make our employees and our customers even happier,” said Jackie. Previously, Hoffman held dual roles as Director of Marketing and Director of Human Resources for Tar Heel Basement Systems, a Groundworks subsidiary in North Carolina.

“Jackie has a passion for helping people and communities,” Cary McGuckin, CMO, Groundworks, said. “This role allows her to focus that passion on developing a comprehensive program across all of our brands. Having a highly engaged, knowledgeable and happy workforce ensures we deliver the highest quality of work to our customers, which drives business growth and profitability.”

Hoffman graduated in 2008 from Appalachian State University, where she played on the Mountaineers Women’s Soccer Team. “I credit much of my professional success to a background in competitive sports,” Jackie said. “It taught me discipline, mental toughness, structure, and the importance of teamwork above all. This will help me in my new journey as Groundworks’ Director of Training and Development.”

“Jackie’s great attitude, enthusiasm, and people-skills are perfect for the challenge of this new role,” Matt Malone, CEO, Groundworks, said. “As the company continues its accelerated growth, it’s extremely important for communication and cultural consistency throughout multiple branches in different states.”
