Winston Salem, NC – Basement Walls Fixed with Carbon Fiber

This Winston Salem, NC home’s exterior basement walls had major structural concerns. Horizontal, vertical and stair-step cracks were visible throughout all of the cinder block basement walls.

Tar Heel Basement Systems installed (12) Carbon Fiber Straps. Carbon Armor is a very high tensile strength material that is almost impossible to stretch. The Carbon Fiber system is the only fabric carbon fiber product to code. Since carbon armor installations don’t require any outside digging, they are viable when there is limited access on the exterior of the home. Carbon Fiber’s low-profile allows for easy installation access behind plumbing lines and electrical conduit. The system was easily concealed with plastic paneling. It is fastened to the basement walls and provides a clean, bright look while preventing water vapor from permeating your walls.

Now this Winston Salem, NC homeowner can rest assured that her home’s structure is stable and safe, and her basement received a cosmetic lift thanks to Tar Heel Basement Systems!

Bristol, VA- Basement Becomes Stabilized and Dry

This older Bristol, VA home was recently renovated. The basement was the last remaining part of the renovation. Small cracks had formed along the basement wall and water intrusion became present after heavy rains. Wanting to have the problems fixed during the same time, the homeowners called, Tar Heel Basement Systems.

Before the waterproofing could begin, the team stabilized the cracked walls using Carbon Fiber. Ten times stronger than steel, the Carbon Fiber fiber-reinforced straps provide instant stability to the wall, preventing further cracking and movement. Once the wall was stabilized, the waterproofing began. The BasementGutter Drainage System was placed along the trench, catching intruding water and channeling into the SafeDri™ Triple Sump Pump System where it is safely removed from the home.

Lastly, the homeowners wanted to brighten up the walls and hide the cracks. Tar Heel Basement Systems installed the CrawlSeal wall material to hide the cracks and Carbon Fiber system, providing the basement with a newly renovated look! Unlike drywall that can grow mold due to moisture, CrawlSeal is made of inorganic material, preventing mold or mildew growth.
