We wanted to offer some assistance and support to Forsyth Family Services for our most recent “pay it forward” initiative. After a few discussions, we were told the highest demand in the Women’s Shelter are everyday items, such as shampoo, soap, toothpaste, etc. These types of toiletries are items that are probably taken for granted by most people on a daily basis, but a luxury for some women and children that find shelter at this facility.
It is for that reason that our team spent the month of April collecting toiletries and other essential items to donate to the Forsyth County Battered Women’s Shelter. Many of our employees donated items and some even made a monetary donation to help out! As a team, Tar Heel Basement Systems donated close to 100 items to the Women’s Shelter.
Some of the things our employees donated: shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, baby supplies (shampoo, soap, bottles, wipes), lotion, raisers, hairbrushes, facial cleaner, feminine products, and more.
We were able to drop the items off to two of the Shelter’s reps at a private facility. They were very thankful and grateful for the contribution that Tar Heel Basement Systems made to help the women and children that are suffering from domestic violence.
