Tar Heel Basement Systems’ employees arrived at the Ronald McDonald House of Winston Salem last Friday eager to prepare a delicious feast for the House families. Each month, Tar Heel Basement Systems buys food and a few employees donate their time to prepare a home-cooked meal at the House.
October’s meal was fixed by Pete Burgess (Owner), Chelsea Krick (Production Assistant) and Mike Smith (System Design Specialist). The three of them slaved away in the Ronald McDonald House kitchen to prepare a menu that included, chicken and beef tacos, Mexican rice and a garden salad.
The families are always very appreciative of these home-cooked meals, as many of them have been away from their home for days and even weeks to
care for their sick child. The Ronald McDonald House relies on corporate donations, such as this, in order to supplement for those families that can not afford to pay nightly.
Tar Heel Basement System is already planning for the November meal and eager to get back in the kitchen and make a difference “one meal at a time”.
