Challenge
This rural homeowner’s double-wide was sitting on a cinder block and brick foundation that was letting water into the crawl space whenever it rained. The constant water intrusion was causing the homeowner to physically pump out water so he tried multiple ‘Do It Yourself’ options, but they were unsuccessful. He decided to call the professionals for help and Tar Heel Basement Systems was eager to design a solution.
Solution
Tar Heel Basement Systems designed a plan that would eliminate this homeowner’s needs to constantly pump water out of his crawl space. The crawl space installation crew began by installing CrawlDrain around the inside perimeter of the foundation. The CrawlDrain drainage system is custom-engineered for dirt floor crawl spaces and collects the water from the perimeter without clogging. The water is then carried into the SafeDri and pumped out of the crawl space, and safely away from the home. The SafeDri’s airtight lid prevents dirt and debris from clogging the pump and water vapor from entering the crawl space. The crew then installed CrawlSeal 20 mil. liner throughout the crawl space floors, walls, and piers, completely separating the earth from the home above. This King, NC homeowner can rest assured that their crawl space will stay dry for many years to come, thanks to Tar Heel Basement Systems!
