Team Josh McKnight and Josh Carver did an amazing job and deserve a large pat on the back. They worked so hard in tremendous heat and humidity. They were very professional and had a very respectful attitude and spoke with great manners. Made sure they cleaned everything after job was finished. Answered all questions. Service Technician Ronnie Whittaker was also so very nice and explained in great detail how dehumidifier worked and what to expect. He seemed to know his job very well. Spoke very kindly and with great respect. Mike Smith came to help him that day and also made a great impression. This job was well worth it thanks to the above mentioned guys and will be well spoken of by my husband and me. Thanks again!!

My interaction with Ronnie at my house on April 13 was excellent. Again, great attitude, on time, knowledgable, and quick. I felt welcomed to call him again if I had any questions.

Hi, I’m Ronnie!

I was born in Boone, NC, but grew up just outside of Raleigh in Henderson, NC. I graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill and made my way back up the mountain in 1995 to receive my teaching certification from ASU. Prior to joining the Tar Heel team, I gained extensive knowledge of this industry, as I spent 10 years under homes working for Terminix. So many things attracted to me Tar Heel, including the opportunity to help homeowners, work beside my closest friends, and help others grow all while learning new things every day.

Since starting my journey here I have made great strides. I began in sales as a Certified Field Inspector, designing systems for our customers. I then moved over to our service department starting out as a Service Technician. In 2014 my teammates awarded me with the Goodwill Ambassador Award, and in 2015 I was promoted from Service Technician to Service Supervisor and awarded the 2015 Service Technician of the Year Award. Since 2017, I have been leading a team of amazing service technicians and service coordinators as Service Manager.

When I am not helping customers improve their home, I am at home with my wife and animals. I have been married to my beautiful wife, Jessica, for about 20 years and we care for nearly 15 rescue pets on our farm; we have dogs, cats, chickens and pygmy goats. I also enjoy reading and watching movies, and love all eras of history.

I enjoy providing our customers with WOW! service and I’m looking forward to meeting with you and solving any concerns you may have!

The Jonesville, NC homeowners decided to give their drab, unfinished basement an updated look without breaking the bank. Tar Heel Basement Systems installed Paneling System directly onto the basement walls giving the space a bright, welcoming look while preventing water vapor from coming through the panels.
The homeowners of this Fleetwood, NC residence were aware of the liability and trip hazard their sinking slab had become over the years. With a two-inch difference in height of the slab, they needed to have this problem corrected without major disruption to their yard and landscaping. Tar Heel Basement Systems used the PolyRenewal method to stabilize and raise the sinking slab. A small (penny-sized) hole was drilled below the slab and a two-part polyurethane foam was injected.
