Tar Heel Basement Systems Partners with Habitat for Humanity
This October, the team at Tar Heel Basement Systems partnered with Habitat for Humanity. As part of the companywide Build Together 2024 initiative, employees assisted in home builds for members of the local communities.
Tar Heel’s parent company, Groundworks, donated $100,000 to Habitat for Humanity affiliates across the country to support long-term stability through safe and affordable housing. Part of the Goodworks by Groundworks program, this partnership gives 5,000 employees the chance to volunteer in 63 communities throughout the year.
Wilmington
On October 9, Tar Heel volunteers teamed up with Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity to help construct a home in Wilmington. Nine employees helped with building framing for a home that will be dedicated to a deserving community member later this year.
Raleigh
The day after Wilmington’s build, team members in Raleigh volunteered with Habitat for Humanity of Wake County. Nine volunteers spent the morning constructing a foundation for a new home in Clayton. Employees were grateful to be making a difference in the community in which they serve.
Winston-Salem
Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County hosted Tar Heel teammates at a build site on October 12. Tar Heel employees assisted in constructing a porch for the house in Winston-Salem.
Habitat for Humanity assists real members of the community afford a home by assisting with the construction. Tar Heel employees were excited to participate in these home builds and help people in their local neighborhoods.
