Employees Donate Blankets to Help Watauga County Families
Monday, November 14th, 2016
Tar Heel Basement Systems will be bringing warmth to several families in Western North Carolina this fall and winter- literally. As a way to help families struggling during the frigid winter months, our employees will be collecting and donating blankets for the Hospitality House in Boone.
The Hospitality House is a regional nonprofit transitional living facility serving Watauga, Wilkes, Ashe, Avery, Alleghany, Mitchell, and Yancey counties. According to their website, the mission of Hospitality House is to rebuild lives and strengthen the community by providing a safe, nurturing, healthy environment in which individuals and families experiencing homelessness and poverty-related crises are equipped to become self-sufficient and productive. The House not only offers shelter to homeless individuals and families but also a community kitchen, food pantry, and hunger relief program! They believe that “everyone deserves access to healthy, organically grown food.”
In an effort to help replenish the hundreds of blankets given out during the winter months, our team at Tar Heel Basement Systems has set a goal to donate 50 blankets to help our High Country brothers and sisters. Blankets can be new or gently used, but must be machine washable. Please feel free to donate adult, child or infant-sized blankets. The THBS Blanket Drive will run November 14-30. Please drop off any donations to our Winston Salem office- 2910 Griffith Rd., Winston Salem 27103. You can also drop blankets off at the Hospitality House- 338 Brook Hollow Rd., Boone, NC 28607.
