Supply drive supports Stokes County Animal Shelter
Wednesday, May 24th, 2017
In an effort to give back to the community and redefine the construction industry, Tar Heel Basement Systems established its Pay It Forward Initiative in 2013. Every month the company and its employees help out a different nonprofit organization. May is always focused on animals, and this year a customer requested that Stokes County Animal Shelter receive the support of the team.
The Stokes County Animal Shelter is a small, rural shelter located in Germanton. The shelter is run almost solely on donations from the community & funding organizations. The shelter is currently at capacity and is only taking in neglected and abused animals right now. They hope to build a larger facility in order to help house more animals. The Tar Heel team will be hosting a supply drive during the last week of May to provide the shelter with some of their most needed supplies. According to Animal Control Officer Shannon Jones, the highest demand is for dry dog food, cat litter, dog bowls (stainless steel only), small dog beds & Clorox.
If you are interested in donating, please drop off all supplies at Tar Heel Basement Systems.
