Tar Heel Basement awarded Sloan Award at 2013 NCSHRM State Conference

Tar Heel Basement Systems received recognition at the 2013 NCSHRM State Conference at the Benton Convention Center on September 30th. The 3-day long conference brought an educational, enjoyable experience for HR professionals to Winston-Salem, North Carolina. In partnership with the NC SHRM State Council, this year’s conference was co-hosted by the Human Resources Association of Greater High Point and the Winston-Salem Society for Human Resource Management.

The 2012 and 2013 Sloan Award winners were honored at the opening ceremony of this event. Tar Heel Basement Systems was among 15 other companies in North Carolina to receive this prestigious award, representing North Carolina’s most flexible and efficient workplaces. In order to receive this award, employees of Tar Heel Basement Systems had to fill out an extensive survey about the policies and practices within the company.

This year, the Families and Work Institute compiled a list of the top 10 Sloan Award winners based on a variety of effective workplace categories as calculated via the employee surveys. These categories include Supportive and engaged workplace, Ability to use workflex options without penalty, Culture of flexibility and Access to flexibility. Tar Heel Basement Systems ranked as one of the top 10 companies in the country under the Supportive and Engaged Workplace category.
