Sydney Blake Nominated for Women in Business Award

Congratulations to Sydney Blake, Tar Heel Basement Systems’ Office Manager, on being nominated for the Business Journal’s “Women in Business 2014.” This award is to honor Triad women who have proven to be a dynamic and outstanding leader with an established track record of significant accomplishments in business and/or in service to our community.

Sydney has shown continuous success and growth in an industry that is predominantly male. As the Office Manager of Tar Heel Basement Systems, Sydney works to motivates her team to reach goals and put the customer first.

Additionally, Sydney always makes an effort to participate in Tar Heel Basement Systems’ “Pay It Forward” Program – an initiative started by a fellow manager in 2013 to get the company and its employees involved in the community. Sydney has donated food, toys, clothes, school supplies and much more in an effort to give back to those less fortunate.

Sydney was very active in non-profit organizations in the High Country such as Boone Service League and Girls on the Run, and hopes to get involved with similar organizations in the Triad now that she has moved down the mountain. She recently Joined the Parent Advisory Board at The Childcare Network, the daycare that her son attends.

A reception was held on Wednesday, March 19 at 6:00 pm at Windsor Jewelers in Winston-Salem to honor the nominees. Sydney attended the cocktail reception and said she was humbled to be in the same nomination category as all of these incredibly established women. The winners will be recognized at an awards luncheon on April 25, 2014 at the Empire Room in Greensboro.
