Tar Heel Basement Systems Owner, Pete Burgess, visited his Daughter and family in Colorado Springs, CO. last week. Pete’s son-in-law works for United States Olympic Committee and was able to get the family in to tour the US Olympic Training Center, which is located there.
Pete, a collegiate athlete, was blown away by this world-class training facility for our Olympic athletes. Additionally, our athletes are privy to some of the most nutritious food anywhere to build their bodies and minds for upcoming events; all funded through corporate donations and sponsorships. Training in Colorado Springs allows athletes to train at 6000 feet above sea level which can give them an advantage when competing at lower altitudes. Colorado Springs has totally embraced the USOC as the economic impact on the city is significant.

Pete Burgess is used to high elevations, as Tar Heel Basement Systems home office rests in the Appalachian Mountains at an elevation of more than 3300 feet above sea level. Still, he was incredibly impressed with the facility and was honored to tour the Center.
He stated, “it was incredible to be at the Olympic Training Center, but it was even more amazing that I got to share that experience with my daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughters.
