Tar Heel Named 16th Fastest Growing Company in the Triad

The Triad Business Journal has been honoring companies – large and small – for 16 years through their annual “Fast 50” award program. This year’s honorees represent a diverse group of industries, from basement waterproofing to logistics & technology solutions to car dealerships.

All privately-owned Triad based companies with a minimum of $2 million in sales are eligible to make the Fast 50. Accounting partner, Smith Leonard, compiles the rankings based on each company’s revenue growth over the last three years. According to Smith Leonard, this year’s class collectively had revenues of $2.1 billion in 2013.

This year, Tar Heel Basement Systems was recognized as the 16th fastest growing company in the Triad, up 17 spots from last year’s ranking of 33. The owner, Pete Burgess, was out of the country for his daughter’s wedding and unable to attend the ceremony. Tar Heel Basement Systems’ Director of Field Operations, Anthony Cass, took Pete’s place on stage to collect the award on behalf of Tar Heel Basement Systems.

Burgess and Cass both attribute the company’s rapid growth to its expansion into the Triad and providing exceptional customer service, but more importantly hiring and retaining quality employees. Over the last 3 years, Tar Heel Basement Systems has grown from 16 employees to more than 50. We are humbled by this award and hope for continued success in the Triad.
