The 9th annual JDRF Blanton Vogler Memorial Golf Tournament was held this past weekend at the beautiful Tanglewood Park in Clemmons. Blanton Vogler was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 12 and died unexpectedly in 2004 at the age of 34. That year, a group of Blanton’s close friends partnered with the JDRF Piedmont Triad Chapter to organize a golf tournament in his honor. It is their hope that the money raised from this event will help to find a cure for diabetes and its complications.
Tar Heel Basement Systems’ Design Specialist, Kent Dunn, has participated in the tournament and donated to the silent auction for the past 2 years and asked our company to help with the cause. Tar Heel Basement Systems was more than happy to be a corporate sponsor for such a meaningful event; registering a four-some, making a monetary donation and providing a gift to all of the golfers in the tournament.
After nearly a week of rain, the clouds parted and the sun shined through, creating the ideal weather for a golf tournament. Representing the Tar Heel Basement Systems team were basement, crawlspace and foundation specialists; Kent Dunn, Danny Harrell and Sam Agnew. Joining the System Design Specialists was Production Manager, Anthony Cass, who proclaimed, “it was one of best golf tournaments that Tar Heel Basement Systems has been a part of and one of the most significant!”
