Tar Heel Basement Systems aims to create a happy, healthy and flexible workplace for all employees. This is evident by being selected as a finalist for the 2013 Sloan Awards for Excellence in Workplace Effectiveness and Flexibility in the North Carolina worksite category. This prestigious award recognizes employers that successfully use workplace flexibility to meet both organizational and employee goals.
In the words of Owner, Pete Burgess, “A healthy company culture isn’t a nice-to-have, it’s a must-have.” Providing a friendly environment that promotes the utmost efficiency possible is the goal at Tar Heel Basement Systems. Flexible schedules, trusting relationships among employees and managers, company events, and constant communication are just a few of the reasons that Pete & Will’s Tar Heel Basement Systems has had such success and growth in the past two years.
The owner, Pete Burgess, was blown away by the prestigious nomination and passed all of the praise along to the employees. He expressed, “we have such a great team that it’s not difficult to have a positive culture and effective workplace. I simply do my best to implement fair policies and create a work environment where great employees want to stay!”
The North Carolina winner of the Sloan Award will be chosen at the end of June, upon completion of employee surveys.
