After calling several companies and being told it was beyond the scope of what they could handle, we found Tar Heel. Paul, who came out originally, the Structural Engineer Bobbie and Ronnie the Project Manager were able to put a plan together to save our home. They genuinely treated our home like their own. We recently had a crawlspace encapsulation by Tarheel Basement of Winston Salem. John Reavis came out to do an inspection. He was professional, and did a thorough inspection of our crawlspace. He answered all our questions and offered solutions without pressure to buy. We knew after meeting with John that this was the company that we wanted to do business with. Crew leader Brian Carey along with Leo and Stephon did a great job making our crawlspace look great. They showed up on time and Brian went over the work details for each day. I was extremely satisfied with the professionalism and hard work that Adam Canter (lead), Tim Witherspoon and Ryan Oldman displayed. They worked well together to complete the job on time and above expectations. I was impressed with the systems but even more impressed with the way it was installed, the efforts to control the dust and the cleanup that occurred throughout the job. I would suggest you ask for this crew by name. I had the work quoted by others but there was no warranty included. I think the extra money spent was well worth the quality, warranty and included follow-up inspections. The lifting peer systems installed closed the cracks in the brick veneer on the length of 3 sides of the house as planned. I observed the installation of the wall braces and could see the immediate reduction in bowing of wall. Very happy with results.

Tar Heel is a great company to work with from start to finish. Jamie came out for the initial inspection and estimate. I was very impressed with his knowledge. Later, when I had some unexpected expenses, he was able to modify the project to fit within my revised budget. The finished project was perfect. The workers were punctual, efficient, and neat. They explained everything before leaving and were very pleasant. And my basement has stayed dry! I would recommend Tar Heel for any basement project.

Brandon was very informative and explained everything thoroughly during the estimate, he communicated through out and even answered a couple phone calls and text messages while he was out of town. The crew – John was the foreman and was super helpful. Called/texted each morning before they showed up, was professional and upbeat. This is not an easy job and they all were very professional. Thoroughly impressed from start to finish! It took 6 weeks to get the installation appointment (post hurricane) but we received texts periodically during that time confirming our appointment. Was nice to know we hadn’t been forgotten about! JACOB C and TERRENCE A did an exceptional job!!! They were on time, professional, polite, honest, knowledgeable and kept us informed of the progress throughout the day. Job was started on 12/23 and completed early the next morning on 12/24; you would have never known they were working just before Christmas – their attitude was GREAT! Restoworx did a fantastic job with mold remediation. JOHN D. did our inspection and walked us through the purchasing process. He was honest, professional and fantastic to work with! All in all – EVERYONE was great to work with. Our crawlspace looks amazing! I’m not afraid to go under the house any more. Professional, courteous and prompt. We will definitely call Tarheel for any future needs!!

Devin arrived on time (1200 noon) just like he said would. I was pleasantly surprised that the inspection included inside and around the outside of the home, as well as the crawl space. I'm glad that no major issues were found . I was impressed with his level of professionalism, as he went as far as to literally record his findings into a slide presentation. He even went as far as to seal around the door to the crawl space in an effort to ensure the possibility of water no longer pooling by the door. I'm very pleased that the encapsulation done by Tarheel Basement Systems is still holding firm. Devin showed me what Tarheel Basement Systems can do for me regarding insulation. Though I'm not ready to make this move now, Devin has given something me to think about.

We contacted Tarheel Basement Systems because, despite the fact that our home in Stokesdale was only 2 years old, it had a musty smell and shockingly we were beginning to see some mold spots on and around vents and in closets, including clothes. They sent out a representative (Harlan) promptly, on a Saturday, who inspected the crawl space, took readings of humidity in the wood and the insulation and overall air, took schematics of the crawl space, and plenty of pictures. He discussed the cost and options with us, taking his time, including financing options. He was extremely thorough, and we agreed on the scope of the work and cost. They initiated the project, with Jacob C and Terrence A arriving at our home early in the morning. Jacob and Terrence were extremely courteous and professional, dropped off some initial documentation, and got to work. I did not have to be home but was able to work from home for the duration of their visit and I can tell you that they worked hard for two days beginning early in the day until late afternoon. Other than leaving for home after Day 1, they did not leave the site and took minimal break time during the entire duration of their stay. Peeking out from time-to-time they took their time cutting the materials to size, and when the project was over recapped with me what they had done. My wife and I are extremely appreciative of Jacob C, Terrence A, Harlan, and the entire team at Tar Heel Basement Systems and would not hesitate to enlist them again!

Worth every penny, very happy from start to finish. We opted for the complete crawl space encapsulation, moisture control, and floor leveling. When the work was done and we discovered that their original plan missed a key leveling issue, they promptly came back out and did the extra work at no charge to us. My inspector, Carter Lassiter, was very professional and educational in helping me understand exactly what I needed to have done underneath my house to ensure my 100 yr+ historical home remained in tact. Prior to Carter coming out, I had paid another company to do what I thought was going to fix my crawl space and unfortunately after one year I started to see issues arise again. Wood rot, moisture, etc. When Sam and Josh (the production team) arrived, they were just as professional and informative of the work they would be doing in my crawlspace. I felt confident from the first inspection all the way to the production team who completed the work to correct and truly fix my crawlspace. Having a warranty from Tarheel Basement makes me feel much more comfortable this go round compared to who I used before. 10/10 WOULD RECOMMEND

Tae. S, Edwin. C, and James. T handled my encapsulation, dehumidifier install, and sump pump install and they did an excellent job everything looks clean and well done these men definitely take pride in their work. Tarheel was willing to work with me in order to make things a little more affordable, with me doing some of the work up to the date of my install since I like to DIY to save money. and I’m very happy with the finished result. They are a little bit on the pricier side but with the quality of work and the quality of material they use I think its more then reasonable. There are multiple instances I’ve heard of other contractors / companies that would “provide” a similar service but would do it with cheap material and also do the bare minimum if even that in order to just take your money. You can’t go wrong with Tarheel. Cant recommend them enough. Almost forgot it was also a pleasure to work with Jason, when he came to give me the estimate. He also was the one to make suggestions on things I could do myself in order for me to try and keep the price a little lower and was very helpful throughout the entire process as I had a lot of questions for him.

They came out and retaped some of the seams in the vapor barrier and cleaned the barrier where some water had pooled. I highly recommend them and their service technician (Jacob ) went over and beyond his duties to satisfy me as a customer. He readjusted my dehumidifier to the proper settings. Get them to help you!
