Sealed Crawl Space
Tuesday, April 14th, 2015
This Greensboro, NC homeowner had COPD that was becoming agitated due to active moisture and mold in the crawl space area. The mold was beginning to grow in the living area and in the kitchen cabinets. They called Tar Heel Basement Systems for help, but then decided to fix the problem on their own. After several failed attempts, the homeowner’s decided to call Tar Heel again for a professional, guaranteed solution.
System Design Specialist, Ryan Arnett, created a flawless design that would prevent future mold growth and stop the water intrusion problem from damaging any more of the homeowner’s crawl space. Additionally, Ryan referred First Call Cleaning and Restoration to remove the visible mold.
First Call Inc. cleaned the entire mold before the Tar Heel Crew began. During the moisture control process, the crew has to immediately install the SafeDri triple sump pump due to the heavy water intrusion entering the crawl space. The SafeDri triple sump pump is specifically designed and engineered to be the best, most reliable sump pump system. The crew then installed CrawlDrain along the inside perimeter of the crawl space. The CrawlDrain drainage system collects water and drains it into the SafeDri triple sump pump and is then pumped out of the crawl space and safely away from the home. After the waterproofing system was installed, the Tar Heel crew began isolating the earth from the home by installing CrawlSeal liner on top of the soil, around every support pier and along the perimeter walls. The last step was preventing the mold from returning by installing the Aprilaire dehumidifier to keep the crawl space air conditioned and humidity levels low. This Greensboro, NC homeowner is excited to have finally had their crawl space problems resolved thanks to Tar Heel Basement Systems.
