We had the "A Team" (Nyles R. Jeff T. and Tyree M.) come out to do our crawl space, and they lived up to their title. Nyles walked me through all the work they were going to do, he clearly explained it and was very patient with me, and all my questions; even as I crawled around their work space, they took the time to answer all of my questions. As an artisan I can tell when someone has done good, mediocre or bad work. Even if you don't know the work itself, you can tell by how the work is being performed, executed and completed; the detail and dedication to the work itself. As such, I’ve gained a clear understanding of what it takes to make a client feel comfortable with the services that you are providing. Things like: forthrightness; clear and frequent explanations of plans; timely delivery of a service that is consistent with said plans; attention to detail; and what is sometimes most important – a team that is able deliver the service in a personable manner. We contacted Tarheel Basement Systems because, despite the fact that our home in Stokesdale was only 2 years old, it had a musty smell and shockingly we were beginning to see some mold spots on and around vents and in closets, including clothes. They sent out a representative (Harlan) promptly, on a Saturday, who inspected the crawl space, took readings of humidity in the wood and the insulation and overall air, took schematics of the crawl space, and plenty of pictures. He discussed the cost and options with us, taking his time, including financing options. He was extremely thorough, and we agreed on the scope of the work and cost. They initiated the project, with Jacob C and Terrence A arriving at our home early in the morning. Jacob and Terrence were extremely courteous and professional, dropped off some initial documentation, and got to work. I did not have to be home but was able to work from home for the duration of their visit and I can tell you that they worked hard for two days beginning early in the day until late afternoon. Other than leaving for home after Day 1, they did not leave the site and took minimal break time during the entire duration of their stay. Peeking out from time-to-time they took their time cutting the materials to size, and when the project was over recapped with me what they had done. My wife and I are extremely appreciative of Jacob C, Terrence A, Harlan, and the entire team at Tar Heel Basement Systems and would not hesitate to enlist them again!

I was extremely satisfied with the professionalism and hard work that Adam Canter (lead), Tim Witherspoon and Ryan Oldman displayed. They worked well together to complete the job on time and above expectations. I was impressed with the systems but even more impressed with the way it was installed, the efforts to control the dust and the cleanup that occurred throughout the job. I would suggest you ask for this crew by name. I had the work quoted by others but there was no warranty included. I think the extra money spent was well worth the quality, warranty and included follow-up inspections. The lifting peer systems installed closed the cracks in the brick veneer on the length of 3 sides of the house as planned. I observed the installation of the wall braces and could see the immediate reduction in bowing of wall. Very happy with results.

They came out and retaped some of the seams in the vapor barrier and cleaned the barrier where some water had pooled. I highly recommend them and their service technician (Jacob ) went over and beyond his duties to satisfy me as a customer. He readjusted my dehumidifier to the proper settings. Get them to help you! If you need foundation work done, do yourself a favor and request Jay Yount at Tar Heel Basements. I had several companies come out, and Jay was the only one who approached my sagging floor issues with real expertise and a no-nonsense attitude. He spent hours carefully analyzing the problem and provided an honest, straightforward assessment with zero pressure. It's clear he takes pride in his work and values doing things the right way. Robert and Steven, James and Brandon all did a very good job with the basement waterproofing. Everything looks so good and they cleaned their scrap too. Can't wait for a damp free basement. First I met with Jeff about Crawlspace encapsulation. He discovered 2 rotten floor Joice. Replacement of those as well as encapsulation was very reasonable. They sent out Andy and Elijah who were very efficient and considerate. The other half of the space was an open basement area. The main front wall was so wet mortar was easing out. Jeff recommended a french drain with a pump. Edward and Jeremy were not only respectful but explained every step . Thank you Tarheel Basement Crew !!

When they finished, I could hardly believe it was the same crawl space—it looked amazing! The project took about four days, with a long commute each way, yet their dedication never wavered. They even came back to install another door, working quickly and efficiently while delivering top-notch results once again. Juan, Alex, and Hayden recently encapsulated our crawlspace. Juan explained the process and reviewed the scope of work before they started. I expressed concerns about a couple of items not specifically mentioned in the contract and he assured me they would handle it. When the job was complete Juan and I inspected the entire space. It was clean and they did a professional grade job. This crew was great to work with.

Gary Hacker Aiden Bennett Michael Mayes Tore out and replaced the foundation crawlspace boards put in supports and floor jack's. What an amazing job! Personable kept me informed diligently did their work. Ate lunch in the truck let me know when they were on the way and arrived. Asked me if I had questions. Went over the work they did showed me pictures. Explained. They never said anything bad about the one that previously did 30k worth of work. These young men worked hard under the house all day long. My home is like new again. Can I adopt you young men? I commend you for your work ethic and integrity. I'm so grateful. Thank you. Floors are even my cabinets do not have space between them and the ceiliing. Doors are even. Whoop hoo. They replaced joists and made my house solid forever.

Best company ever. So conscientious. They understand your home is your biggest asset and any problems with it can induce great anxiety. Tyler was my technician at my annual inspection last week. He was on time (on the dot!) and very, very thorough. I appreciate this company that saw me through an extremely trying process in the best of times. At the time of the original basement restoration (2021), I was in the midst of terrible person trouble and they stuck with me until the end of the project. KUDOS to THBS and Tyler! Cannot recommend them enough and frequently do recommend them to anyone who needs this type of work.

I am very pleased with the service received from Tar Hill Basement and the outstanding job done by Service Tech Josh Lichtenberger. I was very pleased with this young man's professionalism, ability and customer care. He very efficiently diagnosed the problems with my sump pump and dehumidifier. He then proceeded to clean and replace/update or repair old or worn out parts. I asked a trillion questions and he very patiently explained to me my system(s) and how they worked. His commitment to go the extra mile is much appreciated. I highly recommended the company, the equipment and the service tech.

We heard about Tarheel Basement Systems through some local radio advertisements on 2 Guys Named Chris – called and met with a very knowledgeable company representative. We decided to get some much needed basement/crawl space work done and are very happy with the finished result. The number one thing we have noticed besides the dry basement is that our air quality inside our house is so much better. That alone was worth having the work done, not having to worry about moisture and mold are just added benefits. Thank you, the process from start to finish was very smooth and the crew was very professional and did a wonderful job!

From the time I called to request an initial revie, until the work was completed, this process was professional and convenient. Zack came and crawled around in the very tight crawl space during the initial examination and then scoped the work and cost same day with me. John C and Brian C were the service representatives performing the installation of the membrane and foam board over a two day process. These guys worked so hard and kept me informed on status the whole way. I gave 5 stars because I've had lots of service jobs performed at my home and this team and the work done exceeded my expectations.

I was very pleased with the service that that John, Jr and Brady a performed. John went above and beyond to make sure that I was satisfied. He is a very knowledgeable person and knows what he is doing. I enjoyed talking with him he is a very good people person. If I were to need any more service from this company I would definitely ask for Jr. He made sure that my doors would all latch due to jacking up the floors and made all the necessary adjustments to see that they did so. Tar Heel Basement Systems is a great company! Of course we all know a company is only as good as the people who represent it. And I must say, Jagwon and Stanley who installed my basement system clearly are proud of their product and of their company. These two men arrived on time, were extremely polite and courteous, worked hard and very fast to give me (the client) the best job possible. Jagmon spent the necessary time with me to answer all my questions and kept me in the loop so I knew what all the steps were and why they were important. My only regret is I only have one basement to do. But you can bet I will be telling my friends and neighbors where they must go for solving their basement issues…Tar Heel Basement Systems!

I went into this basement project a little nervous, it seemed like a big commitment to put this amount of trust into Tar Heel Basement Systems. We had a long term problem with water ponding in the crawl space underneath our home anytime it rained. We had multiple people come out to try and diagnose the source of the leak, but none of them were 100% certain. Tar Heel Basement Systems blew me away immediately. The inspector, Dave Brereton, came out and within 15 minutes had identified the root cause as well as a plan to fix it. A few weeks later, the crew came out and completed the job in under two days. The difference is unbelievable. From Dave to the install crew, this company knows their stuff and conducts themselves professionally. A great experience, and I encourage anyone with similar problems to give them a chance. Thank you Dave and crew!
