The team that did the encapsulating our crawlspace was Derrick (Foreman), Onyx and Jordan. They were great and professional. They were prompt and once they arrived they went straight to work. They unfortunately were working when it was raining and cold. Derrick kept me up to date on their process and provided pictures every day. One important part for me was that they would clean up at the end of the day. I would highly recommend them.

We had the crawlspace sealed back in 2020. Recently we decided to complete the crawlspace project by having the insulation removed from the floor joists as well as having insulation board installed on the concrete cinderblock, collectively known as "finishing the crawlspace". Well, I must say, Groundworks sent me the A-team: Sam, Josh and Kim. These folks were efficient, courteous and clearly knew what they were doing. They you guys and gal!!! It looks great!

Jess W and Zack B just finished lifting a 6' x 8' concrete slab and stabilizing a much larger one that I hope will stop the leak that I am having in a basement wall. They were extremely professional, knowledgeable and quite graciously willing to put up with me watching them do their work, which I found fascinating. This review applies only to the person, Lisa, that helped complete our project. Our encapsulation project took over a year and a half to complete. It was a long process of phone calls not returned, emails not answered, and follow up not done. But, once Lisa became my contact, she made sure that everything was done when it was supposed to be done. That included multiple trips to fix problems found in inspections, multiple county inspections, and a refund for electrical work that I paid for twice. When Lisa said it would happen, it did. What a refreshing change from the previous 16 months. Great job, Lisa!

Crews were professional and kept a clean work area during their two days at our residence. David P, James C, and Michael J all took time and discussed the entire process with my wife and myself. If you need foundation work done, do yourself a favor and request Jay Yount at Tar Heel Basements. I had several companies come out, and Jay was the only one who approached my sagging floor issues with real expertise and a no-nonsense attitude. He spent hours carefully analyzing the problem and provided an honest, straightforward assessment with zero pressure. It's clear he takes pride in his work and values doing things the right way. More companies need people like Jay, and if his management is smart, they'll make sure he's moving up.

Tar Heel is a great company to work with from start to finish. Jamie came out for the initial inspection and estimate. I was very impressed with his knowledge. Later, when I had some unexpected expenses, he was able to modify the project to fit within my revised budget. The finished project was perfect. The workers were punctual, efficient, and neat. They explained everything before leaving and were very pleasant. And my basement has stayed dry! I would recommend Tar Heel for any basement project.

David was very professional and with the assistance of Sara Shultz put the plan in action.Today Tarheel Basement completed encapsulation system on our crawl space. Within two hours after the crew left we could feel a difference with the dehumidifier running. The work ethic of Edward, Taylor and Tim was above all expectations. As with most older homes, all the little issues that popped up were dealt with in a timely and efficient manner. Justin explained everything they were doing and sent pictures of all of it. Great job.

TarHeel Basement Systems is your go to for crawlspace issues and foundation repairs. From ordering the free inspection all the way through the end of the job my experience was smooth. Their communication was on point and if I ever had questions throughout the process I was able to call and get piece of mind. They worked around my schedule and I even had to push back my install date for personal reasons, they worked with me through it all, no questions asked. Rob Philips was the inspector and gave me a very detailed report of what was going on and talked me through the best solutions. The job site crew, Ian A., Ian B., Ethan, and Justin were very efficient and personable. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. They made a stressful situation for me and my family very smooth and I’m thankful for their work!

The specific project is floor stabilization with minor lift but that isn't an option so i picked encapsulation instead (which K do intend to gave Tar Heel do, down the line). Jay Yount was great salesperson and Ceritified Field Inspector. Foreman David P and crew mates Ernesto "Nestor" and James C were knowledgeable and efficient, arrived on time and got the job done in two days. Results of the floor stabilization were communicated to me clearly before, during and after the work was performed. All my expectations were at least met. Would definitely recommend Tar Heel to friends and family.

We contacted Tarheel Basement Systems because, despite the fact that our home in Stokesdale was only 2 years old, it had a musty smell and shockingly we were beginning to see some mold spots on and around vents and in closets, including clothes. They sent out a representative (Harlan) promptly, on a Saturday, who inspected the crawl space, took readings of humidity in the wood and the insulation and overall air, took schematics of the crawl space, and plenty of pictures. He discussed the cost and options with us, taking his time, including financing options. He was extremely thorough, and we agreed on the scope of the work and cost. They initiated the project, with Jacob C and Terrence A arriving at our home early in the morning. Jacob and Terrence were extremely courteous and professional, dropped off some initial documentation, and got to work. I did not have to be home but was able to work from home for the duration of their visit and I can tell you that they worked hard for two days beginning early in the day until late afternoon. Other than leaving for home after Day 1, they did not leave the site and took minimal break time during the entire duration of their stay. Peeking out from time-to-time they took their time cutting the materials to size, and when the project was over recapped with me what they had done. My wife and I are extremely appreciative of Jacob C, Terrence A, Harlan, and the entire team at Tar Heel Basement Systems and would not hesitate to enlist them again!

So far so good with our basement gutters and sump pump that were installed December 2024. Fingers crossed we don't have anymore flooding!! We just had our yearly maintenance and inspection visit for our basement gutter system. The technician, Devin Hunt, was great! He was very thorough, professional, and polite, even calling me the day before our appointment to ask me in advance if I have any concerns or issues with the system.

Zach Wallace came for my first annual inspection for the crawl space work completed in 2025. He was thorough in checking that all of the work was functioning as it should. He took pictures to show me the updated inprovements. He answered all my questions clearly. I hired Tarheel Basement Systems to do a crawlspace encapsulation on a property that I am renovating and preparing for the market. I could not have been more pleased with their level of professionalism and workmanship. The entire experience was positive, starting with my sales person Nathan Seeley, and including our on-site crew of Jaylan, Daniel and McKai. So I spent a LOT of money to ensure my crawl space was properly protected and encapsulated. I had both Charles and DJ who worked non stop to complete the entire job within a day. They did an excellent job and helped me inspect the crawl space myself (yes I crawled around, sheesh!) These guys were hard working, thoughtful and diligent! I am pleased with the thoroughness of their work. I also passed the City inspection without issue. Thank you Charles and DJ!!

We needed our front stoop to be lifted. So I found Tar Heel Basement Systems online and read many positive reviews. We were not disappointed! John Knight spent almost 2 hours with us. We ended up getting our back patio and driveway lifted as well as the stoop. We are pleased with the work that was completed at our house. John Knight and Jeremy were both a pleasure to work with. We used Tarheel to address our foundation issues with the installation of several vertical piers. I cannot say enough good things about my experience with them, start to finish. The sales process was super transparent, and prices came in MUCH lower than other providers. Other providers had made recommendations that really weren't necessary, and we really appreciated our rep, Clint, explaining everything to us in a detailed, consultive manner. Even after the sale and the work was done, he still took the time to get back to me very quickly with a couple of final questions. Our install crew, led by Josiah, I believe his name was, was fantastic. Showed up when they said they would, went over the game plan, answered all my questions, and got everything done in one day. The office staff were also very helpful and even reached out to make sure we were completely happy. I wish all of the contractors we have for home projects could operate at this level! Great work!

Nyles, Tyree, & Jeff did an excellent job encapsulating my crawlspace. They explained everything and were very professional. When an issue came up concerning the crawlspace door, they made sure to contact the manager and a custom door was made for the space. I did have to call and inquiry about a few things and return visits but they were reaponsive and made sure the job was done. Great install team!!

The team that showed up to do the work were courteous and professional. Nate Griffin was the team leader and was very knowledgeable and explained the system in words I could understand. I recently moved home to assist my parents in caring for their 30+ year old house with a crawl space that had never been touched. It was bad and I needed help. My first point of contact with THBS was Pete Horak and I am so thankful it was. From day one Pete was dedicated to making sure my family and I were properly informed, felt safe and never felt alone during this process. I had many apprehensions about the job wondering if I made the right choice of contractors but when Juan S. and Alex S. rolled up to my house I was immediately blown away by their openness and politeness. They were genuinely honest in their accessment and actually told me that the treatment might not work and gave me choices of one was " no charge" and left with a smile which in turn gave me a little bit more of faith in humanity.
