Photo Album: Condo with Crawl Space Humidity and Moisture Problems

Album Description

This condo had a crawl space with moisture and humidity issued. There was thin black plastic covering parts of the dirt floor, but based on the moisture levels in the crawl space, musty smell and sagging insulation, it was not very effective. Additionally, the cinder block walls had water stains and efflorescence- salt or mineral deposits left behind after water pushes through the basement walls and evaporates.

Tar Heel Basement Systems cleaned out and regraded the crawl space floor. Then the installation crew dug a interior perimeter trench against the footer to help catch groundwater (we recommend installing a drain in this trench and leading it to a sump pump). This trench lead to the low spot in the crawl space where a SafeDri was installed. Next, Scott and his team installed/attached the CrawlSeal liner along the dirt floor, cinder block walls and crawl space piers. Lastly, the crawl space vents were sealed and a dehumidifier was turned on to condition this, now bright and clean crawl space.
