We had the crawlspace encapsulated and a dehumidifier installed a few months ago. The crew did a great job. Very neat, and very professional. Today Joel came out to answer a question I had about the dehumidifier. He answered my question, AND did a full reinspection of the space and equipment, just to make sure everything was right! Like everyone else we've worked with at Groundworks, Joel was very professional, and friendly. He communicated his plan for the visit, and went over the results. Overall, a great experience!

Best company ever. So conscientious. They understand your home is your biggest asset and any problems with it can induce great anxiety. Tyler was my technician at my annual inspection last week. He was on time (on the dot!) and very, very thorough. I appreciate this company that saw me through an extremely trying process in the best of times. At the time of the original basement restoration (2021), I was in the midst of terrible person trouble and they stuck with me until the end of the project. KUDOS to THBS and Tyler! Cannot recommend them enough and frequently do recommend them to anyone who needs this type of work.

My husband and I purchased a home only to find out after we closed that was literally falling down around us. After calling several companies and being told it was beyond the scope of what they could handle, we found Tar Heel. If I had only known then what I know now I would have saved myself so much time and stress and called Tar Heel FIRST. Paul, who came out originally, the Structural Engineer Bobbie and Ronnie the Project Manager were able to put a plan together to save our home. They genuinely treated our home like their own. The Foreman Gary Hacker and his Technicians Sam Jarvis and Dalton Brown who came out to do the work (along with Cory and Axel) were professional, kind, and extremely knowledgeable. I talked with 3 companies regarding a moisture/mold problem in my basement and was most impressed with Tar Heel Basements. The initial inspector was thorough and knowledgeable, spending more time checking my foundation both inside and out than Tar Heel's competitors. He answered a lot of questions and assisted with the interest free financing. It was an expensive repair that I was very stressed about, but Tar Heel made it as easy as possible. Once the scheduled week arrived, the technicians provided advanced notice of arrival each day, and showed up on time or early. They kept me informed throughout the process and answered numerous questions. They hung plastic to protect my belongings from the dust and advised regarding their findings (such as termites) as they removed walls and insulation. They coordinated with the electricians for installing power to the sump pump and made sure they cleaned up. Tar Heel kept everything clean and even mopped my floor once the work was completed. I'm very appreciative of Nathan Griffin, Zac Mathis, and James Passmore for their hard work, and the care and consideration they provided while working in my home.

Wanted to leave a review of my Groundworks crew (Austin, Chris, and Harry). Work performed was done very satisfactorily and was pleased with how they were committed to getting the job done even when prior work performed by a third party company was incomplete. They stayed at the job site until the third party returned to fully complete the previous work. What started out as a postponement of work due to the aforementioned incompleteness, ended in a completion of the project as scheduled!!!! They were polite, friendly and fully explained, both the work to be performed and the potential complications from this structural project. Yes, I would recommend and would use them again for any future structural issues.

We had Robert Penny, Service Technician, to inspect our under house dehumidifier (we had TarHeel Basement perform a complete encapsulation several years ago). He was very thorough with his diagnosis and replaced the clogged filter with a new one. Robert was very competent and conscientious with his work – he wanted to make sure we were completely satisfied with his service call before leaving. Robert is the best technician we’ve had from Groundworks for the contracted warranty service we have. Just a GREAT COMPANY for encapsulation and warranty maintenance!

This review applies only to the person, Lisa, that helped complete our project. Our encapsulation project took over a year and a half to complete. It was a long process of phone calls not returned, emails not answered, and follow up not done. But, once Lisa became my contact, she made sure that everything was done when it was supposed to be done. That included multiple trips to fix problems found in inspections, multiple county inspections, and a refund for electrical work that I paid for twice. When Lisa said it would happen, it did. What a refreshing change from the previous 16 months. Great job, Lisa!

So I spent a LOT of money to ensure my crawl space was properly protected and encapsulated. I had both Charles and DJ who worked non stop to complete the entire job within a day. They did an excellent job and helped me inspect the crawl space myself (yes I crawled around, sheesh!) These guys were hard working, thoughtful and diligent! We recently had work completed by Tarheels Basement systems . They installed floor supports and an I beam under our home that we purchased and discovered did not have proper supports on a load bearing area of our home. Justin H , Demarte, and Quentin were punctual, professional, and polite . They were attentive to detail and preserving our property. Justin communicated their eta and they arrived right on time . He greeted me with a smile and walked me through the install information clearly . They took care to prevent any damage during the lift process. His crew worked cohesively and quickly and were very informative. He made some solid recommendations to help prevent additional issues in the future .We would definitely work with this company in the future if needed .

I was very comfortable to work with Tar Heel Basement from the beginning to get the quotation until the work was done. The quotation process was very transparent and clear. Everything was clearly explained, questions were answered by the lead person before the work started. I felt this company is very transparent comparing with its famous competition in my area. The guy from the competition showed up to give me a quotation started his conversation, "how much you want to pay? How much my competition's quotation was? I can match to it" before asking me about the project.
