Our Foundation Wall Solutions
The Carbon Fiber Wall Reinforcing System is a state-of-the-art solution for bowing and cracking foundation walls. Using the same technology the Army Corps of Engineers developed to reinforce bomb shelters, skyscrapers, and bridges, we use Carbon Fiber to stabilize your basement walls.
These strips are made from a fiber-reinforced polymer that’s 10 times stronger than steel and is specifically designed for this purpose. Using high-strength epoxy resin, straps are attached to the wall and secured with heavy-duty steel brackets. The straps will stabilize the wall, stopping additional movement and preventing further problems. This system requires no exterior excavation, installs quickly, and won’t impact future basement finishing.
The IntelliBrace™ Wall Repair System is the ideal way to stabilize failing foundation walls. If you have walls that are bowing, buckling, or tilting inwards, installing an IntelliBrace™ system can stop any further damage and potentially straighten the wall.
The IntelliBrace™ consists of steel I-beams that are secured to the joists above the wall with steel brackets. This system is easily adjustable, allowing for tightening of the brace to attempt to raise the wall back to its original position. This system doesn’t involve any exterior excavation and installs quickly with minimal disruption to your basement space.
Basement Wall Anchors are designed to repair walls that are sliding inwards, tilting at the top, bowing, and buckling. These wall anchors are made of galvanized steel for a long-lasting solution that will prevent any further inward movement of your walls.
Wall anchors work by extending from your wall to the stable, hard-packed soil beyond your home. They anchor into these stronger soils and brace the foundation wall, preventing further movement. Wall anchors are installed with minimal disruption to your lawn, and they won’t damage the interior of your basement or take up usable space.
Before and After
This Winston Salem, NC home that was built in the 1960’s was having structural concerns on 1 exterior basement wall. The wall had a large horizontal and stair-step crack that was causing the cinder block and brick to bow out.
Tar Heel Basement Systems foundation crew installed 3 IntelliBraces™ along the bowing wall. Next, the crew installed a plastic paneling that is fastened to the wall while leaving a bright, clean look and stopping water vapor from permeating the basement wall.
This Winston Salem, NC homeowner is very pleased with the finished look now that her wall is stabilized and her basement is beautiful.
Horizontal and stair-step cracks formed along the basement wall years ago. Wanting to prevent the issue from worsening, the Vilas, NC homeowners installed three wooden support beams. Unfortunately, throughout the years, the wooden joists began to rot becoming more of a problem rather than a solution.
Providing permanent stabilization to the cracked wall, the Basement Wall Anchor System was the best option to straighten the bowing wall. Installed in just one-day, the weight of the wall was transferred from the failing wooden support system and onto the Basement Wall Anchor System. The homeowners can now return to their renovation projects and have peace of mind, their basement wall is now permanently stabilized.
